Who AM I?My name is Deacon Anthony Russo,and I have been in ministry at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Pittstown, NJ since 2007. I was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Santa and the late Vincent Russo. My wife Ellen and I, have been married for 39 years and live in Hunterdon County.
I attended elementary and high school in West Babylon, N.Y., and earned his AAS from SUNY Farmingdale, N.Y., and a Bachelor of Science degree in physiology from the College of Staten Island, N.Y. From 1984-2003 I worked as a pharmaceutical scientist at Wyeth Research and Entelos, Inc. From 2003-2006, I taught AP Biology and Algebra at Villa Walsh Academy, Morristown, NJ. In May of 2007 I received my Certificate in Diaconal Ministry from College of St. Elizabeth, Morristown and ordained to the diaconate June 9, 2007 at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi, Metuchen, by Bishop Paul G. Bootkoski. Vesting clergy was Father Peter Suhaka, Pastor at St. Catherine of Siena Church. I earned my certification as a Parish Catechetical Leader (PCL) and FOCCUS trainer for Marriage Preparation through the Diocese of Metuchen. In addition to my parish ministry, which includes serving on Stewardship Council, Parish Pastoral Council, Building Committee, and as President of the Finance Council, I provide pastoral care to patients at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington. Currently I am a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. and Chaplain to the St. Catherine’s Knights of Columbus Council #15217. In my free time, I enjoy playing golf and woodworking. |
